PPL(H) Private Pilot Licence

The goal of the PPL(H) training program is to teach student pilots to fly under visual flight rules. Students who successfully pass the theory and practical flight exams at the Civil Aviation Administration (TKA) are granted a private pilot license.

The license holder acquires the right to fly as pilot-in-command (independently) or as co-pilot on aircraft that are recorded in the pilot's license.

Frequently Asked Questions

About Helicopter Pilot Training

No, our helicopter pilot training is designed to be successfully completed by anyone, regardless of previous experience or education.

Of course, certain skills can help to understand the topics faster, such as technical knowledge of engines, mathematical foundations for aerodynamics, or logical thinking for navigation.

The theory course in the form of evening studies lasts about 6 months. The duration of practical flights depends on your availability – we conduct flights 7 days a week, including Sundays and holidays. The record time for a student to complete training was 5 months (theory through individual lessons and almost daily practical flights).

It is also possible to spread the training over a longer period – from 1 to 2 years..

You will receive a license for the helicopter you trained with.

Later, you can obtain qualifications for other models – this is called Type Rating kursu.

Usually, this course includes:
10 hours of theory
5 hours of practice (+ additional, if needed, for turbine or Airbus helicopter certification)
An exam flight with the new helicopter you want to add to your license.

Yes, anyone who has completed training at our center can rent a helicopter for personal flights or trips.

We offer R44 and R22 helicopter models for rent according to your needs.

The license itself (document validity) does not expire. However type ratings (permissions to fly specific helicopter models) have an expiration date.

To maintain a type rating, you need to:
✔ With that model, per year, fly at least 2 hours
✔ Once a year perform a proficiency check (profcheck) with an examiner

This is required for each helicopter model you want to fly.

We offer R44 and R22 helicopter models for rent according to your needs.

Our training provides an EASA license, which is valid in all EASA countries (EU + several additional countries).

The EASA license can be easily converted to an FAA license (USA).

With our license, you can essentially rent and fly a helicopter worldwide, except for some countries (e.g., some African countries) that have their own licensing system.

If you already have a PPL(A) license (airplane pilot license), you will need to take 4 additional theory subjects and pass the exams:

✔ Aircraft General Knowledge and Navigation
✔ Principles of Flight
✔ Operational Procedures
✔ Flight Performance and Planning

You can also apply 10% of your existing flight hours (but no more than 6 hours) towards helicopter training.

Theoretically, you can take the exam after 39 hours of helicopter practice..

After the PPL(H) course, you can start accumulating flight hours. Once you reach 155 hours of flight experience, you can start the CPL(H) course (commercial pilot license). This will give you the right to work as a pilot and fly commercial flights for pay.

It is also possible to spread the training over a longer period – from 1 to 2 years..

If you want to start Helicopter Pilot training but are not yet fully decided, we suggest you try an Introductory Flight Lesson. Don't hesitate, turn your dream into reality with us!
